Using a Smyth Performance kit, I converted a 4 door VW turbo-diesel Jetta into a VW UTE as they call them in Australia or Volks-amino as I call it.

The tailgate is from a 2001 Ford Ranger.  The tail lights from a 2002 Ford Explorer.

I started with this 2006 white diesel Jetta and a UTE kit from Smyth Performance
Then I removed the back half to the amazement of my wife Jerilyn.
The Smyth kit includes the bed, quarter panels, tail gate, and back window panel.
All done and visiting Northern Michigan for a few weeks.
